Whether you are an existing TPS whānau or a new family looking for an exceptional educational experience, I extend a warm welcome to you. Having now been the leader of Taradale Primary for twelve years, I can write about our school and culture with some surety! So what makes us so special? In a nutshell, it’s the people.
Welcome to Taradale Primary School. We are a friendly, caring school with approximately 470 learners from year 0 to year 6. Our school has a great teaching staff and strong support from parents and caregivers and the local community.
At Taradale Primary School we place a high emphasis on Personal Excellence and Respect. We care about the background of all tamariki and what they bring with them to our kura each day. We care about their potential and aspirations. We create this through building warm and caring relationships with our ākonga and their whānau and through the building of learner agency.
Taradale Primary School is a learner centred kura where staff and tamariki are open to and engaged in learning. Fostering hauora is important for the growth of everyone in the school community and underpins everything we do. We also place a strong emphasis upon providing a broad range of opportunities for all akonga to grow and learn.
